Activities for Ladies in Barcelona
If you’re in need of some quality time with your girlfriends, here are a few suggestions of activities for ladies in Barcelona.
1. Shopping- Barcelona is a fashionable city with great shopping. The shops range from famous luxury designers to quirky little boutiques. Meander down any street in Barcelona and you’re sure to find a store that interests you. If you need a little direction, walk down Passeig de Gràcia, Carrer de la Portaferrissa, or Avinguda Diagonal. Be sure to check out Spanish brands such as Custo Barcelona, Zara, Camper, Adolfo Domínguez, and Vinçon.
2. The beach- Even when the temperature dips, hanging out at the beach is a great way to spend the day. Go for a swim if the weather allows, but if not, pack a book, a blanket, and a picnic and you’ll be all set for a relaxing day at the beach. If you’re feeling active, go for a walk, run, or bike ride along the boardwalk.
3. Spa- After a long night of drinking and dancing, treat yourself to a relaxing spa day. The majority of the top hotels in Barcelona have wonderful spas and many services to choose from. One of the most popular, and relatively affordable, spas in Barcelona is Aire de Barcelona, located in the Born district. Aire de Barcelona is modeled after an Arabic bathhouse and offers various baths, aromatherapy, massages, and more. A Hamam, a hot steam bath, costs 24 € without a massage and 35 € with a massage.
4. Lunch- Lunch in Barcelona is more than just a mid-day meal. Lunches can easily last two hours and all the restaurants in the city offer a “Menú del día”. The menú del día is a special menú offered only at lunch, roughly from 1-4. For a flat rate, which usually ranges from 7-11€, you choose a first dish, a second dish, a desert, and a drink. The majority of the restaurants display their menú del día outside so it easy to walk around for a little and then choose the one that sounds best. The menú varies by day and is the most economical way to eat in Spain.
5. Salsa lessons- Salsa is very popular in Barcelona and many places offer salsa lessons for all levels. Antilla Barcelona Latin Club is a huge music and dance club that also offers salsa lessons. After your lessons, head to Mojito Club to show off your new moves.
