5 Places to socialize in Barcelona in the evenings
It can be difficult to choose amongst the hundreds of bars, clubs, and restaurants offered in Barcelona. Here are a few suggestions if you’re looking for a night of socializing.
1. Elephant (Paseo de los Tilos 1)- This circus-themed club is housed in a giant tent and is decorated with bronzed elephants and elaborate gardens. Although clubs aren’t always the best place to socialize, the music at Elephant is loud enough to dance to but not so loud that you can’t carry a conversation. The club has plush, velvet couches around the perimeter which are perfect for chatting and drinking with friends.
2. Shilling (Carrer de Ferran 23)- This intimate café-bar is a perfect place for socializing with friends, both during the day and at night. You can easily spend hours at Shilling with a few bottles of wine, plates of tapas, and good friends. However, if you do get bored, you can always head to Vildsvin, a laidback tavern across the street.
3. Queen Vic’s (Nou de la Rambla 24)- Queen Vic’s is a great spot if you’re looking to watch a Barça football match with some friends. This spacious English tavern has plenty of seating so you and your friends will be able to comfortably watch the game together. A cool environment, the tavern is dimly lit with wooden benches and brick ceilings. The patrons here are friendly and you’ll most likely make some new friends as you watch the game. And if you need a break from San Miguel, Queen Vic offers European beers including Heineken, Stella Artois, Guinness, and Foster’s.
4. Blue Lounge (Carrer de Sagues 37)- This classy lounge bar has it all with a dance floor, a cozy bar, and comfortable couches. Whether you sit at the bar or lounge on the couches, many people come to the Blue Lounge looking to socialize. With friendly regulars and heavy-handed bartenders that make deliciously strong Sangria, this is a great place to socialize and make new friends.
5. Milk (Gignàs 21)- A flirty cocktail bar located in the heart of the Barri Gotico, Milk is a prime destination for socializing. Complete with comfortable booths, sophisticated decorating, and plenty of inventive drinks (try the Nicky Lauda Saua or the Porn Star Martini) to choose from, Milk is the kind of bar you can stay at all night. Every night from 7-9, Milk offers a 3.50 € happy hour.
